James Charles a beauty youtuber breaks away from YouTube for some while now on the ground of grooming allegations leverage against him by TikTok user who goes by the name isaiyah, isaiyah has over 200,000 followers on TikTok.
Already with millions of followers across various social media platforms and counting, James Charles has definitely created a niche for himself in the media space with his very sleek, smooth, and ingenious make-up designs. His sublime early years of internet fame has earned him accomplishments with major brands like CoverGirl, alongside appearances on A-list Tv Shows.
In an open conservation video, James Charles uploaded in his YouTube account. James Charles said after the incident that happened to him in 2019, he promise his fans he was going to work on himself behind the science, he was going to work on his attitude, behaviour and he spent two years in doing that and he promise his fans, friends and those supporting him that he will never let them down again. James Charles denied the grooming allegation leverage against him by the teenager and urges people as human being they should defend themselves against things they did not do, James Charles said why he was away from YouTube, he was accused of different things most especially the grooming allegation.James Charles grooming allegations came up when he came across a TikTok user named Isaiyah.
James Charles said he met him on Instagram and added him on Snapchat. According to James, he said Isaiyah told him he was 18, James took nude photos of himself sent it to Isaiyah. James said Isaiyah was the one that sent him nude photos of himself when he was at the shower, that he only flirted back. The minor denied that he never told James he was 18 and he never took nude photos of himself and sent it to James and if James have nude photos of him, maybe James was using another device to take photos of him when he was at the shower. The minor said he is 16.

They say that with great fame, comes great attention amongst fans. Well, James Charles is a young YouTube sensation with a ginormous number of teenage fans who adore his brand and all that he stands for. Although, he has definitely had his fair share of controversies dating back in 2017 where he got backlashed for making unsolicited statements, his feud with a Make-up geek in 2018 and a couple more controversial videos and posts spanning till 2020 that sparked up more backlash from fans which has affected his career and caused him a world of bad press especially with the recent allegations from a teenage fan.
The news making rounds is that since the beginning of 2021, the you tube star was castigated for defending allegations pertaining to grooming of teenage boys. Currently, he has been accused of sharing some illicit content on Snap Chat app with an underage teenager fan. Charles however debunked the allegations whilst explicitly stating that he was rather unaware of the fans actual age. Looming on the side over the course of months were more allegations of the same nature which teenagers levelled against the media star.
He went further to state that he was under the impression that the fan was an adult as he portrayed himself to be but that the key take out from this bland experience is to carry out proper checks on fans by seeking an identification or passport before interacting with fans going forward. Whilst the fan has countered the statement made by the celebrity, he solidified his allegations by releasing explicit photo and voice evidence.
It is widely known and accepted that celebrities are seen as role models which increases the influence they have on fans, but a line must be drawn to curb and ensure that only innocuous content are shared on their online channels, content that are not misleading. It is imperative to add that celebrities are not perfect; they are not devoid of making the wrong choices which may negatively influence their teenage fans who are quite vulnerable. Teenagers are constantly seeking ways to stay trendy by idolising stars especially when they glamorise their actions, in the end exposing themselves to all kinds of trouble.
It is needless to say that the internet is a massive tool that allows for interactions of all sorts, it paves the way for teens to establish and follow through with the lives and daily activities of their favourite stars. But this has steadily become a growing concern, and in a bid to restrict the level of interactions that teens have online, the ‘’Me too movement’’ on grooming and child predation was set up to monitor teenage online activities, as the impact of celebrity choices (bad choices) adds a certain level of pressure on teenage fans when not properly guided, the ripple effect causes a dent on their self-esteem and negatively affect their life and wellbeing.
Grooming is the action by a paedophile of preparing a child for a meeting, especially through an internet chat room, with the intension of committing sexual offence.
When this accusation came up and was trending on social media, this made James Charles to step down from YouTube for a while. Returning to YouTube he made a video of an open conversation while having his makeup and clears up the air of the grooming allegation that the teenager was lying.
