Neeraj Chopra Interview Before The Competition
How Do You Feel About The Competition
I think this is one of the the most important things when we somewhere and represent the nation. The whole of the country stand with us, this is one positive aspect that people of the nation pray for us.
Where Are You Now
I am in uppsala, sweden right now. And according to what we had planned, I was supposed to play a few competitions and then prepare for the olympics, training is pretty much going accordingly and good, we might increase the intensity next week but then, we have to schedule the training plan seriously so we can train hard next week but after that we have to ease down the training and we have to be ready for the competition.
What Are You Looking Forward To
I am looking forward to the javelin qualification round the finals because we time right now of the weeks or more and these competitions that I played were very crucial for me because I have played against better, walcott and in finland and it is with them I have to play in the olympics. The feeling when you play in the olympics for the first time will be lesser, because of this and I will be able to perform well when I played these competitions, it felt to me like my first international one. I had my doubt looming around in my mind, maybe because of traveling I wasn’t that fit but again the of 86.79 was fine. But on that runaway I had thoughts rallying around in my mind that I could throw better. And when you play a lot of competitions you get the idea on how to do it right and what to do. And this feeling automatically get normalized. But this was altogether a new feeling for me and that is why I said that we needed more competitions. But as far the throw is concerned, yes it wasn’t my best throw. There was some technical problem and the javelin had a lot of height and many more issues. It wasn’t my personal javelin in finland, my javelin got stuck in stockholm, so I had to borrow the javelin from someone else but there is always a different touch to one’s own javelin. For the olympics we are improving the technical loopholes that are there. I have been working on fitness as well especially where it lack behind and also I can’t over work my body. But I have been working on whatever I can improve and the preparation for the olympics are going pretty well.
Neeraj Chopra will be competing in to torkyo olympics with Johannes vetter and keshorn walcott, the 23 year old staff believes anyone can become the champion of the game.
How Do You See Your Competitors
There are a few throwers who have been consistent but I believe that it will depend on that day how the competition will pan out because regardless of the form the athlete has also thrown 82 or 83 meters and even 85 meters, which is the personal best. It depends on the way the body function on that day, someday’s it does wonders and someday’s it won’t, so we will only know what will happen on that day. The way the training is been done, I believe I am ready but it will depend on that day. I am doing everything so that I can give my best there. With all the training and preparations, I will try my best that day and will try to bring a medal for the nation.
Neeraj Chopra truly brought a medal for his nation, india, and that was the first time india as a nation is winning a gold medal.
